Delegate to Significantly Increase Your Success

Delegation refers to the assignment of responsibility to another person in order for that one to carry out a chosen project. What’s important to realize is that the person who delegates the assignment is actually still accountable for its outcome. The person in authority is handing an opportunity to a subordinate in hopes that he or she will make proper decisions and reflect well upon the authority’s name.

The benefit of delegation is that it allows staff members to develop their skills to full potential. In a way, it is about entrusting authority to someone else. You, as the authority figure, are giving that person the right to act independently, under the power of your name and your firm.

Just because you can do something, doesn’t mean that you should continue to do it. Learn more about how to work with people, both superior and subordinate, and to make educated decisions that will help you on the road to success. Delegate as much as you can so you become more effective and efficient at those things that only you can do and are best for you to do to be more productive and successful. As you begin to release control one-by-one, you will start to experience how great it feels to just do what you are good at and work only on those things that produce the results you want.

Dealing with Stress Today

Concrete Ideas on How to Cope With Stress
Stress is just a part of life and can be found no matter where in the world you go. Is stress merely part of the inescapable human condition? Are we as a species chronically worried and unhappy or does bad luck simply find us wherever we are? Stress does not happen just to make our day unbearable. You could say that stress is a natural reaction to an action taken, the consequence of a causative event. For every action there is a reaction and often times the stress that we have to endure in life is the stress that we bring upon ourselves by the choices we make.

Catch Stress before It Happens
Life experience is a cruel teacher, but perhaps the best teacher that we will ever have. Experience teaches us that some mistakes we make can lead to very frustrating, even painful, consequences. The more you learn from the wisdom of others, the more cautiously you will approach life, and in the end, the less stressful conditions you will be exposed to. It has been said that hindsight is always 20/20. As you look back on some of the poor choices you have made, you may observe now that you were actually given fair warning as to the amount of responsibility that lay ahead of you.

What can you do about the stress you are currently experiencing? There are many remedies out there ranging from the extreme (drug use, hypnosis) to the relatively simple. Exercise is one healthy way to handle stress since rigorous physical activity releases endorphins. Endorphins serve as mood enhancers while also help in the alleviation of pain. Exercise is also a very goal-oriented activity, one that you can see and feel the benefits of right away. It may also help to learn some stress management techniques. Calming yourself in times of stress is important. Slowly breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth. This helps you to control your breathing rate. Meditation has proven helpful as another form of tension control.

If you are interested in reducing the stress in your life, review the options above and set a goal to implement one or more of them. If you have ever wanted to be something more than what you are, but have felt hindered by circumstances, then now may be the time to act. Only by taking decisive action will you ever change into the person you want to be.

Are Limiting Beliefs Impacting Your Success?

Of what significance is this to you?  Understanding the concept of “limiting beliefs” is important, not only for leadership but also for self-improvement.  In order to motivate others you must understand what inspires them, what challenges them and what basic truths form their belief systems.  In order to break away from self-limiting beliefs, you must first learn about the psychology of self-inhibiting behavior and what thinking patterns to watch out for.  You do have the ability to change your beliefs and your entire life—to become what you envision as a successful human being.  You are not predestined.  Limiting beliefs have not been proven as involuntary.  You are not incapable of change.  So, decide today that you are going to be even more open to change so your limiting beliefs won’t impact your success any longer.

The Accountability Coach(tm) – Anne Bachrach

Quality of Life Coaching
is really what Accountability Coaching Is All About.

Achieve Your Professional & Personal Goals In The Time-Frame You Want!

The Number One reason that stops people from achieving what they really want is simply lack of accountability. You have already figured this out or you wouldn’t be on this website looking for help to get you from where you are to where you want to be in life.

Wouldn’t it be great if our ‘good intentions’ worked the way that we think they should?  Not even enthusiasm guarantees positive results. There’s often a wide gap between our intentions and our actions.  Poor follow through – consciously deciding to do something, but then not doing it – is a fact of life for many of us. We fail to take the action necessary to be in alignment with our good intentions. This can be very frustrating.

What got you to where you are now may not be effective in getting you to where you want to be.  Most of us, when left to our own devices, just can’t do it alone.  And there is nothing wrong with this.  Professional athletes have a coach. Why not you?

Experience for yourself how an Accountability Coach relationship can help you achieve your goals so you can enjoy what is truly important to you in life.  Pick the program or progams that you think is the best one to take you from where you are now to where you want to be in life – personally and professionally.

How Hard Is It To Stay Committed?

It’s not always easy to stay committed to your purpose, especially in troublesome times, when you must bare the burden and expense alone.  What’s important to remember is that wavering commitment is not commitment.  A commitment is not something that is on again off again, or easily stomped out due to undesirable factors—this is more like a notion pretending to be a commitment.  Successful individuals will eventually achieve their reputation because their commitment was true: they approach their plans with determination and persistence.  You could even say that true commitment endures.  It stands the test of time.  It survives, not only for the rest of a person’s life, but in some cases even beyond a person’s life to future generations of followers.

Commitment is most important when times get tough.  Before embarking upon a new journey, plan your future well and prepare for the worst, while always hoping for the best.  Welcome adversity because these are your challenges to overcome.  These are the obstacles that hold you back from achieving your dream.  These are tests for you to pass to show the world just how committed you are to making a difference for yourself and for others.

5 Ideas to Reduce the Biggest Time Wasters

Have you ever thought to yourself: “If only I had more time?”  You may even long for the old days when you were young and didn’t have many or any responsibilities.  You have the whole world waiting for you.  You can do anything you set your mind to—even the things that that you think you don’t have time for!

How is this possible?  By scheduling time for what’s important as well as what is fun.  Of course, along with this schedule, you have to take certain steps to eliminate time wasters.  What are time wasters?  Time wasters can be anything, from an inanimate object to a full living and breathing person.  It is important that you first learn how to identify a time waster and then learn how to stop this person, place, or thing from distracting you.  Let’s start by listing some of the most common time wasters.

1. There’s no question that computers and a high-speed Internet connection can provide many valuable services to you.  However, these tools are among the worst time wasters in existence.  Some companies have actually banned Internet usage during working hours.  If you catch your hand slowly approaching your mouse with the intent to surf, catch yourself and get back to work.  Ask your friends to not include you in the personal emails they like to send to other friends.  You may even choose to only check email one or two times during the day, and for a specific period of time – one time not being the first thing in the morning when you arrive at work.

2. Interruptions from phones, team members, or pop-in visitors can be very distracting.  Human beings have a natural inclination to sit around and chat.  There’s certainly nothing wrong with this pastime, and there is no need to be rude with your peers, associates, friends, and neighbors.  However, you do need to set some rules down and inform everyone who adores your company that during certain working hours you are unavailable.  This applies to team members also.  You create set meeting times when others can meet with you.

3. Unless you work on the phone, you may choose to unplug this device since telephone conversations can easily take up a lot of time.  Once again, explain to family and friends that during working hours the phone is not an option.

4. The next time waster is to consider is not actually a tangible object, but a lack of time management.  When there is no time management or scheduling taking place, then a person tends to be unfocused in his or her approach.  A person may not prioritize their tasks, or in the opposite case, try to take on too much responsibility.  Along with the threat of procrastination, a lack of time management makes for a potentially devastating time waster.  The use of a calendar for time management will lead to more efficient and effective behaviors that produce even better results and increases your overall success.

5. One of the most often reported problems with office employees is the lack of education that newcomers are given.  This takes up more time having to explain procedures and demonstrate how to work various systems.  You could apply this lesson as well, whether you own your own company or work independently of others.  Try to learn new systems or new information on your own time, so that by the time you start working you are not wasting any time reading over instructions or surfing for help resources online.  Creating procedures manuals for all positions in the firm can have a huge impact on productivity and reduce wasted time.  Create a goal to create one or more procedures each week for each position in your firm and put them into procedures manuals for each person and their position.

These are some of the most common time busters.  If you sense that you are losing a lot of time, take steps to eliminate the source of the distraction or distractions.  This may include sacrificing some items altogether or at least making it more difficult to access such fun, time-wasting activities.  Your office productivity will improve and you will be better off!

4 Tips for Effective Goal Setting

How do you go about setting goals?  There are different levels to goal setting—you might even say there are goals to setting goals!

Tip 1: Start Broad and Get Specific

You start at the base level, which means deciding what it is you want out of life.  Are you interested in a particular career path or are you after the benefits of success, such as money or influence over others?  After you decide on a mission you must break down this destination into smaller targets.  The entire mission may take a lifetime, so why limit yourself to just one target?  Having a series of targets to accomplish over a short period of time keeps you motivated.

Tip 2: Brainstorm

It is important to give some attention to the “brainstorming” process.  The object of these sessions may be to expand your vision of success, with proper attention given to breaking down long-range goals into achievable steps.  For example, an artist might ask himself, “If I want to be a professional artist, then what kind of art do I want to make?  How will I go about making it?”  A career professional might ask herself similar questions, such as what corporate level do I want to reach and why?  Do I want to open my own business someday, and if I do, what kind of business would it be?”  You may also find that it helps to ask deeper questions such as “How could I make the world a better place?”

Tip 3: Do a Personal Assessment

After you decide exactly what it is you want to accomplish you have to compare the person you are now to the person you will be then.  Examine your circumstances and unique personality to see what is holding you back from achieving your dream.  Can you trace your lack of success or motivation to get started to a certain mindset?  Is your behavior or your present living surroundings preventing you from reaching a goal?

Tip 4: Create Specific Timeframes

After you consider how to correct the circumstances, you must organize your goals according to a specific time frame.  A specific time frame means that every goal you set should include a month, day, and year for when you would ideally like to achieve that goal.  If the grand scheme of your ambition takes 25 years to accomplish, then try and envision yourself at the one-year point.  What do you see?  What progress could you realistically make?  Better yet, could you break down these goals even further, to a month’s time frame, perhaps even a week’s time frame?  Start with long-range plans and then write them to be progressively smaller.  There should be a logical coherence between each of the plans you create so that the new plan picks up where the previous plan leaves off.

Once you create this progressive plan it becomes a matter of taking action and then updating your list on a regular basis.  You may find yourself modifying short-term plans as you continue to grow in experience and as you always keep the long-range mission in mind.  It is about consistently making progress toward your goals.  When you are effective at goal setting and focusing on the activities required to achieve these goals you will feel confident about fulfilling what is truly important to you in life.

Become More Productive and Profitable

Richard Weylman sent out the below tips that I agree with and thought were put in a very succinct manner.

If we’re honest, we would all like to be more productive and profitable.  The question is, how do we get there?  Here are some basic principles to consider:

1.     Stop saying you don’t have enough time.  Everyone has 24 hours in a day, so why are others able to accomplish so much more than you are?  Re-evaluate how you spend your time and set new priorities.  We always seem to have enough time to do the things we want to do!

2.     Focus on the outcome you want to see.  Keeping your “eye on the prize” makes it easier to endure any discomfort you have to experience to get there.

3.     Focus on what you value most.  Everyone has one thing that is more important to them than anything else.  Structure everything you do around and toward that.  For advisors, it should be meeting potential clients and bringing them on board.

4.     Learn to say “no” to things that fall outside of your priorities.

5.     Before you leave work each afternoon, compile a list of the top 6 (or 8 or 10) things you need to accomplish the next day.

If you don’t make time to grow now you won’t have time to recover later!

How will you apply these tips in your life to be even more successful?
