Go against the Herd
Becoming a successful leader is not about blending in – it’s about remaining true to your vision and going against the herd if that’s what it requires. If you have a gut feeling about your business the best thing you can do is to act on it. The more you can create a unique niche in your market, the more leverage you have against similar competition.
When Sam Walton opened up small convenience shop in a town with a population of less than 50,000, other business leaders were convinced he was headed for failure. They had no idea that Wal-Mart would go on to be the largest retail chain in history. What’s the moral of the story? Going against the herd just may be your ticket to success. Sam Walton had an idea, a passion, and carved out a unique niche in the market. He remained true to his vision and went on to prove his vision could become a reality. Shouldn’t you follow suit?
